UCB1 accessory for fan coil units, cassette units and ductable units
UNIVERSAL control board, suitable for:
• 2-Pipe system;
• 2-Pipe system with electrical heater;
• 4-Pipe system.
UCB1 board features:
• It allows 'Master/Slave' networks to be created or units to be connected to the central supervisory system for system management.
• BACNET and Modbus RS485 communication protocols.
• Complete with addressing dip-switch and configuration dip-switch.
• Handling of 3-speed AC motor units or EC motor units (alternatively, not simultaneously).
• Management of 1 or 2 On/Off valves, or 1 or 2 modulating valves.
• Compatible with all supervisory systems.
• The board allows management of all unit parameters, including:
- Manual/AUTO speeds.
- Thermostat-controlled motor or always on.
- Change-over Summer/Winter manual/AUTO (for 2-Pipe units, AUTO depending on water temperature, with mandatory SNW2 probe).
• Additional functions: condensate pump control, presence contact, dry contact usable as window contact (or for connection to external programmer clock, or connection to external On/Off switch, etc.).
• Electric power supply: 230Vac-1Ph-50Hz.
“Master/Slave” configuration:
The system architecture includes the following main elements:
• 1 UCB1 board for each individual unit to be managed, maximum 32 units can be connected together (1 board must be configured as 'Master', the remaining as 'Slave').
• 1 SNA air temperature probe (mandatory unless IRC or the TRC panels are present) for each UCB1 board.
• 1 or 2 water probes (SNW2 Summer/Winter water temperature probe, SNW3 Minimum water temperature probe).
• 1 local interface (IRC or TRC digital wall control panels) to be connected to the UCB1 'Master' board.
Configuration via Modbus communication (system supervision connection):
The system architecture includes the following main elements:
• 1 UCB1 board for each individual unit to be managed (local unit in the network), maximum 256 units can be connected together.
• 1 SNA air temperature probe (mandatory unless IRC or the TRC panels are present) per room unit.
• 1 or 2 water probes (SNW2 Summer/Winter water temperature probe for UCB1, SNW3 Minimum water temperature probe for UCB1).
• The UCB1 main board can be controlled directly from the central system alone, without the need for local control (IRC or TRC).
• The IRC or the TRC panels are therefore optional, only if the user wishes to be able to manage the control locally (with recalibration limits administered by the central unit).
• It is possible to combine 1 UCB1 board with 1 MC4 board to create 'Master/Slave' groups of units for Open-space room control. In this case, the UCB1 board acts as the 'Master' (the only unit seen in the zone by the central system), while the units connected to the MC4 board remain 'Slaves'.
Probe features SNA, SNW2, SNW3:
• SNA:
Air temperature probe (NTC with cable L= 800 mm), used to measure the incoming air temperature (installed in the unit's intake). An SNA probe is mandatory for each UCB1 main board, unless IRC or the TRC panels are present.
• SNW2:
SUMMER/WINTER water temperature probe (NTC with cable L= 800 mm), used to measure the inlet water temperature (installed on the supply pipe, before any valve). The probe is only required for 2-Pipe units and only if Summer/Winter AUTO change-over required according to water temperature (otherwise the change-over remains manual only). Not required for 4-Pipe units (in this case, AUTO Changeover with Neutral Zone).
• SNW3:
MINIMUM water temperature probe (NTC with cable L= 800 mm), T.SET=32 °C (installed on hot water coil). The probe is only needed if the 'Minimum water temperature' function is required.
